Dr. Edward Wheland, MD

Dr. Edward Wheland, MD is our Medical Director and a retired board certified Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon and Consultant. After graduating from Notre Dame with Honors, Dr. Whelan graduated from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University and was in practice for 39 years In Savannah GA. He completed a residency program at Duke University Hospital, specialized in Trauma Surgery and pioneered the anterior hip replacement technique. Dr. Whelan built and grew a very successful practice and recently retired after selling his practice to the largest hospital system in Savannah.
